Born out of a desire to help WBC members fully experience the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, "The Passion Project" has grown from a ten-minute sketch into a full-scale dramatic musical. The 2010 production, entitled "The Last Witness," features a cast and company of 100, a live orchestra, wonderful sets, costumes, and special effects, inspiring music, and a new twist on an age-old story that has captivated the world for 2000 years.
Based on the life and times of John the Apostle, the story of Jesus of Nazareth is told in flashback from the lips of the elderly John as he is in exile on the island of Patmos. And while the subject matter is serious, there are ample moments of humor as well as somber moments of reflection. A deliberate attempt to "break down the fourth wall" draws the audience into the story like never before.
